The Paradox of Love

Love’s fierce delight
Demands the loyalty of a pack of wolves
Yet the gentleness of a young lamb
Only asks for little and it is happy
But cannot be satiated with
A little of oneself.

Ancient, Modern, post-modern,
Woven throughout history
How does two souls become one?

Moments holding hands
Demands eternity
Time spent kissing
Talking together
Demands of the stars to last forever.
