Dreams of a Fugitive Star

A short poem about putting a career above love.
June 2, 2010

She traded love for
That fugitive star,
That she will never catch.

The view of where you are,
Once again
suspense of being lost
In its fast moving glow,

Once again
your eye captivated by the view
Of its fast moving glow,

The growing expanse of water and sky
Between me and you.

“I’m alright, I’ve been fine.
How are you?”
